Welcome to Something Special, we are an independent, family-owned, large ‘small’ shop serving our local community stocking a wide range of quality greeting cards for all occasions and a varied selection of gifts. Early summer and in between events can be a quieter time, so we take this opportunity to clear some end of lines and older stock.
We have a massive sale on, with a variety of items at 3 for £1, many picture frames starting at just £1 and less than half price on many other products. We also have a selection of cards at 5 for £1.
Something Special
About Us
Something Special was opened by Husband and Wife, Martin and Lorraine in 1997. It had been a lifelong dream of Lorraine’s to one day open her own shop. The shop has gone from strength to strength, and keeping it in the family, their son Ian, and soon after Daughter Victoria also joined the team. Grandchildren Joseph and Cara also had Saturday jobs here for a while coinciding with their college courses. Martin, unfortunately, passed away in 2007 and now Lorraine & Victoria run and manage the shop together
Something Special is situated in a parade of shops on a busy main road and offers free parking.

We stock many many different brands, we like to support smaller independent companies much like ourselves but equally, buy from larger companies with well-known brands so you can have confidence knowing you are buying a quality product.

Products
We are constantly sourcing new products to stock and to keep on-trend with the latest fashions. (We have certainly seen some changes over the years in how and what people buy!) We check all our items when they arrive and as we want to be sure they are in perfect condition when given as a gift.
Our staff are always happy to help in choosing the right card, finding the perfect gift and also picking the correct wrapping or gift bag. We strongly believe in personal customer service, something you cannot get by ‘adding items’ to your basket!
